Depends on the state. I pay $25 a year to renew my license plates, and then around $400 a year in personal property tax (that number depends on the value of the car, my car is 2 years old so it's pretty high). Some states have a higher license plate fee and no personal property tax.
We pay around $60 for a license plate renewal. No personal property tax here (Houston, TX).

Let's hope some military money goes toward improving Macs and iPhones for civilians, too.
I wonder if Apple will tell the army what a great 3G provider AT&T are?

Hahah entertaining. That stinks that Justin Long is done though. He was a good fit for these ads.

Let's see if this one stays, Papermaster from IBM didn't last long so I'm curios to see if a former Microsoft person does fit in.

I think its a great application, I use it for basic layouts and word processing. Its not quite as good as keynote, but it is still a solid program with only a few things that bother me.

I like the new version. But can i recommend that you do what the weather widget does, where you click on it and it gives you a small version and then a more informed version.
EDIT: sorry my ignorance you can. Now i can fully give this widget two thumbs up.

Interesting article on how the Apple ads are turning off potential buyers in the recent InfoWorld. I blogged my thoughts on the campaign and WWDC here (http://www.donmappin.com/?p=189).
I have to disagree with a lot of what you say, as you're looking it at (as you would, working in IT) from a purely technical point of view. Marketing does not work that way. What did Budweiser do? They made themselves the "fresh" beer, as all their beer would be on the shelves within 24 hours of leaving their factories. However, every single company does exactly the same thing - only you don't realise it. The mistake people make with these adverts is that they look at them, knowing the technical side of things, and wish they were present. When was the last time you saw a car advert that purely focused on the selling points? No longer are products being sold for their features, but for their story and lifestyle offering.
When IT experts criticise the campaigns, they're erroneously doing so - because they're not the target audience and never will be. When you read it in the New York Times, or an IT specialist magazine, then you'll read all about specs, performance and so on, but not on TV.
The adverts have resulted in a lot of media attention, so are they successful in that respect? I don't know, but the more people aware of your product, the more potential customers you have. It's like direct mail - if you hit them once, there's a very high chance they'll forget you, but if you follow it up with an e-mail, and then phone them, your conversion rate is greatly increased. If Apple follow-up these adverts with more, and then ultimately demonstrate other aspects of switching, it might prove incredibly successful.

Oh, and another thing cpu manufacturors demonstrate maxed out cpu fairly frequently this is done to show the potential of a cpu not that they're going in to production. I would be that they scoured production for months before they found one cpu that could achieve what they did with some kind of special cooling. They probably had the thing in a freezer with some kind of special gas instead of air to cool it.
Moto and IBM do demonstrations like this also.

I will buy an 11" once it has:
-Thunderbolt
-i5/i7 CPU with AES-NI
-option for 200+ GB drive
Would be supremely delighted if it also has:
-battery life approaching that of the 13"
-SDXC slot
-8GB RAM option

Nobody is upset that after 4+ years they're STILL using the chrome back?!?!?
Easily fixed as it's always been right back to the old iPods.

OK
I have a crop camera and I know it is 1.6x factor on EF. therefore a ef 50mm = 80mm.
now here is where I do not understand:
on a EF-S lens is the crop factor still 1.6x the lens value so a ef-s 65mm is really 117mm.
I just trying to understand what the benefit of crop camera lenses are if the lens has the same focal length as a EF lens.
my understanding the
EF-S 10-22mm is the same focal lens as a EF 16-24L lens, why produce a lens EF-S, when on a crop camera you could just add a EF 16-24mm L lens (other than cost).

No PowerPC version? Ouch. Lets hope that's not a growing trend for all you golden oldies out there :p
Yeah, I knew this was inevitable. (I'm running a 1.25 GHz G4 iMac.) That being said, for the applications I use (and this won't be one of them), I honestly don't see myself being forced to buy an Intel machine for a loooong time. Just because Adobe has decided to rpoceed in this manner doesn't mean other companies will follow suit. And you can bet that Apple definitely won't, at least not for a few more years. Heck, Classic was supported until what, last year essentially? And the G3 machines up until Leopard? ;)

As soon as Sandybridge based MBA's arrive, I'm buying.
Don't want an outdated C2D and Nv's video chipset, I've seen the HD3000 in action and it's very good. Does everything I want and much more.
From what I read, the Intel HD 3000 is actually better-performing on OS X than the Nvidia 320m. People are paranoying this Intel 3000 issue like it's the plague, while in reality they are basically the same in terms of performance.
I don't have the money, but if I was to buy a MBA, I'd surely buy it once the Sandy Bridge version came out.
You guys are forgetting that the LV and ULV version of the HD3000 is underclocked compared to the normal voltage version. So while the normal ones are the same as the 320M, the underclocked LV and ULV ones are definitely not going to match up to the 320M.

Robster.
No. In fact the average Japanese cannot say 'robster'. The 'L to R' problem ('ret's go') is when Japanese know they're trying to say an English word with 'L' and automatically think the Japanese sound would be incorrect so try to make it sound more like English. The actual Japanese L/R sound is nearer to 'L' and our English words beginning with 'L' are not a problem. Therefore the average Japanese would pronounce 'lobster' with an 'L' but 'rabbit' would be pronounced 'labbit'.
