It's based on what Apple is signing, not what's on your phone. I don't know why the OP didn't want to save the blob. If you've got the blob, you can install that ios anytime you want.
can u only save blobs from the current FW that your idevice is on or can u save whatever Apple is signing?

I'm learning about the Picker View and was pretty disappointed that the book didn't go beyond basic stuff. I went thru several other books and online as well as the built in Apple help
You talk about "the book". Which book? And who is the author? Also, what were the "other" books?
Not one had an example of putting a pic inside the Picker.
The book was a single column, no example of multi column, or custom widths or loading from array.
See the UICatalog sample app for demonstrations of how to, at least, use images.
Basically I need MUCH more detail, eight book and not one goes into good detail.
Is there any book that REALLY gets under the hood and opens things up?
Of all the programming help/docs/books I read, it's pretty hard to imagine there's not a better book than these.
Most books don't go into the kind of detail I think you seek. They give you the basics and then it's up to you and your cleverness to use those fundamentals to adapt things to your needs.
Amazon's preview thing is pretty worthless, can't get into the meat of the book, the 'contents' doesn't tell you enuff.
They'll give you sample pages from a chapter. Any more and they'd be giving away to real content and some would have no incentive to buy the book, would they?

I have no problems like you have with 10.6 with my 2007 iMac and my 2009 MBP and I run more than the average software titles. There are some hiccups (Tiger was the most stable version of Mac OS X in my eyes), but I can live with it.
Maybe you can tell us more about your situation and we might be able to help you?

Thanks for the responses, i'll do a full restore tonight to see if it has any effects on the battery life, I don't want to turn off the push notifications and push email unless I have too.
it could be that I am in a no service area for most of the day and the phone keeps trying to get the service so maybe I just need to switch it into airplane mode whenever I have no service.
This is 100% your issue. I wouldn't bother with a restore.

Spymac forums are just plain lousy.
You get alot of those smoking smiley-only posts. Those drive me nuts. They just do it to get high post counts, so they can become Detective or some **** like that.
Spymac mods should get rid of all that ********... its stuff like that that I don't bother posting comments or posts of any significant nature. I deleted Spymac from my bookmarks. That site has become overladen with useless drab graphics and cheesy sales pitches.
I think the only redeeming quality of Spymac is the presence of JuicyApple, but that's about it.

Is a powermac g4 a good mac starter computer?
I think so, however, it depends on what you're using it for.

Ok. Apolgies again but I guess I didn't make myself clear. Yes the pages are written in ASP, I wrote them myself but like any other web page it's still just text at the end of the day. Unlike HTML you can't just view the page source and edit it though since the HTML you are seeing could just be something that is rendered by the server. What I'm after is something that can FTP to my site, download a file and then edit it using a text editor before reuploading

I've never really owned a great point and shoot camera for the simple reason that I know I'd never really carry it around with me to use it. I have used a lot of cell phone cameras though, and I will say the ip4 camera is the best that I've used. I have no issues with the photos that I take looking messed up, but that could be because I have no awesome camera to compare it against. I would think that for 90% of the picture taking that most would do, it would be just fine. Even if not, it's worth the tradeoff of not Having to Carry around a Point and shoot camera wherever you go. I will say the camera is a big selling point for me and cell phones though. It's one of the main reasons I haven't went to android yet. The iPhone cameras seem to work ally better. Here are some photos I've snapped with a range of lighting conditions.

OWC is making a Mac Pro PCI Express SSD aren't they? I haven't heard about it in what seems like a few months.
OWC, OCZ and FusionIO all said they are working on a fully Mac supported PCIe SSD. However, no one has heard any news yet and apparently they all took the information off their websites.
Doesn't seem to happen any time soon, although I do see the necessity for it as the current SSDs already saturate the 6Gb/s SATA port. Given the trend of SSD development, single drives might be capable of 1GB/s sequential speeds in two years (give or take). I highly doubt that we'll see a 12Gb/s SATA port by then.

It appears that OS X will truncate any password longer than 7 characters to only 8 characters. In other words, it's an 8-character overflow. This problem is global in that it affects the Login Window, Screen Effects, Keychain Access, and even network logon security. For anyone with long password phrases that have easily-guessable words in the first 8 characters, this is a problem. Since "MacintoshOSXIsMoreSecureThanMicrosoftWindows" only needs to be entered as "Macintosh", gaining unauthorized access is very simple with a common name attack. Of course, we all have passwords that are a combination of letters and numbers, including a mix of upper- and lower-case characters. ;)
