I don't even think .99 for a song is that bad. But .69 is even better!

I'm about to get my card out and spend spend spend!!! I was going to get the 17" due to the fw800, DL superdrive and screen space of course. Now I wonder, the 15" is attractive being that bit smaller. Anyone got any comments on either? Still like the screen on the 17" but I'm thinking 15" would be a bit more portable.

A phone shaped like the illustration would be an ergonomic disaster, in my opinion.
I heard a rumor it was designed by the guys that do the Mac mice.

It's amazing how people who hang out at a site dedicated to Apple don't really know anything about Apple R&D. This is so old news. But here for your edification:
http://www.intel.com/technology/io/thunderbolt/index.htm
Take hard note of the sentence: "Developed by Intel (under the code name Light Peak), and brought to market with technical collaboration from Apple."
What's amazing is how you haven't provided a citation to match your earlier post :
TB was envisioned by Apple and then handed off to Intel for development and implementation.
So again, Citation needed. The citation provided does not indicate Apple envisionned TB, only that they collaborated with Intel on the project, which might or might not be after the fact that Intel envisionned the tech and not Apple.
Again, you state Apple basically came up with it, burden of proof lies on you for this. I don't think I've ever heard that about LightPeak until this thread. It always either was a joint venture or an Intel tech developed in collaboration with Apple.

I've been tracking this fantastic forum for months, and I've been trying to learn from you all. I'm pretty new to DSLRs, after using P&S's for many years.
So here's my first submission...

I now have 2 gpu's running which should put up some additional points. I have stopped the cpu folding on that machine, it wasn't doing nearly as many ppd in windows as it was in linux. Hopefully I can push over the 400k ppw mark but we shall see.
I am used to win xp at work but win 7 has been a challenge to figure out, so many things have changed...

WOW! It looks like wIndows 3.1!
I know - it's funny how things come full circle.
Mac OS X was all about color and Aqua.
Then, it started moving back to clean, iTunes style windows. OS 9 gray started replacing the "pinstripes" that were with Aqua and the dock became 3D.
Now we're back.
Honestly, I don't mind it. I work on my Mac all day and it's nice to have some more friendly looking programs. I don't see a huge difference in UI differences that it's going to cause me (at least) any inefficiencies; but to each there own.

Facts? You have no proof that she was faking a seizure- none whatsoever. If you want to talk facts, then speak about what you actually know. You have NO WAY to prove she was faking. What you're engaging in is speculation.
I actually know that many here have shared the same view as mine, that It's painfully obvious she wasn't having a seizure. Must of been a coincidence the seizure happened right at door exit then? Purposely done to avoid being taken outside, where she would of been in severe trouble.
Common sense always prevails.

But I can't decide weather to go for the slower 200 GB drive, or the somewhat faster 160GB drive.
I know that you can never have too much disk space, but I'm wondering what the performance differential will be.
I'm currently running on a 7200 rpm 100 GB (with only 10 GB free), and either of the options in the new machines will be slower (but cooler and less battery hungry)... am I going to be unhappy with a 4200 rpm 200 GB drive? Does anyone know the cache size or any other specs for the 200 GB drive?
4200rpm is dog-slow. Go for the 5400rpm drive and use the money you saved for a nice big FW800 external HDD.

If this ipod killer was coming out of MS central (software dev, etc) i wouldn't be concerned. However the team that is working on it (xbox) actually are decently creative.
Also apparently ms has taken a hands off strategy to let the division develop its own creative culture/workflow. Let us remember what really drives the great products from apple - its the creative synergy of many in a culture of passionate people who truly enjoy making things together - a highly collaborative and insanely cool environment.
Because the creative capacity of MS sucks they need to make up with it in cash and market strategy. At least they had the sense to give xbox team freedom from the predominantly borgish world of MS - multiple stupids. - sorry couldn't resist.

I'm guessing Josh is just after some hits.
iPhone 5 will just be the iPhone 4 with a better antenna design and faster internals. iPhone 6 will probably have a re-design.
I agree. I think iPhone 5 will be if not literally then at least from feature perspective "iPhone 4S".

I hope this is true. A lot of people would go to T-Mobile because of their competitive pricing and that would encourage AT&T and Verizon to lower their prices too. Hell, I would consider switching.
nah Verizon and AT&T would furlough a couple of goons to go and see that Tmobile prices were brought up to their level...there is NO WAY TMobile will be allowed to undersale Verizon and AT&T...NO WAY...Tmobile, Sprint and whoever else you wanna name only has lower rates now because they are starved for new customers, losing old customers to Verizon and AT&T and they DON'T have an iPhone...

But I stand by Apple for now, that they do have some "bigger" features they just aren't showing us....
What's the next logical step in a computer interface? I used to say "Computer, show me the money" to open Quicken back in pre-OS X days. More of a gimmick than anything else, but imagine if the Finder and maybe even other apps became "speakable."
Me: "Check mail"
Computer: "You have nine new messages. Would you like me to read them?"
Me: "No, thanks."
(clicks on an email, reads message)
Me: "Reply to this message"
Computer: "Type or speak?
Me: "Type"
type-type-type
Me: "Computer, I'd like to add a photo of the kids to this email."
Computer: "iphoto has 6,813 pictures of the kids, which one would you like?"
Me: "One from the birthday party last week."
Computer: (a strip from iphoto appears) "Here are 23 from last week. I've highlighted the one where your wife fixed the red eye. Is that the one you want?"
Me: "Yes, that will be fine."
Computer adds the picture to stationery in the email, other pictures go away.
Me: "Send the email"
Me: "...and order me a pizza."
This kind of thing can't be too far off. A 75 mhz Performa could do it in a rudimentary way. Imagine what a modern Mac may be able to do. "Speakeasy" has a nice ring to it.

Does anyone know if they are available from today in the retail stores?
The new MacBook Pros are available from the online Apple Store. The new MacBook Pros will ship next week.
That was in the story

Hyper-Threading (Intel Core i7 only) a technology that allows two threads to run simultaneously on each core. So a quad-core iMac has eight virtual cores, all of which are recognized by Mac OS X. This enables the processor to deliver faster performance by spreading tasks more evenly across a greater number of cores.

Apple is just stupid right? News flash for you - if they wanted to do patching instead of replacing files they would be doing it.
