Never heard of the HTC Flyer, I'll look into it. The problem with most pressure sensitive devices is that the pressure sensors start failing after a while.

i have to agree with killuminati here (without even being a rap person).. your theory that because he uses the n word (which by the way can still be seen as a proactive measure to take racist words away from non blacks) is contradictory to being religious/spiritual is absurd. same goes for cursing in general. did you ever think that perhaps the n word isn't seen as curse amongst many blacks? we're not talking about white people calling black people n's here, it's a big difference.

if you want to prevent people from screwing with you presentations on tvs, just disable the ir port (via the rs232 console/diagnostic software or by slapping a sticker over the ir port). securing you devices takes at most 2min per device. so let the companies learn from this and don't bash gizmodo like mad.

I'm not sure I understand the people who (a) don't believe this is coming soon, or (b) don't believe it's coming at all because "people won't use it - it's too small." That's garbage.
Not everything Apple releases has to be an "earth shattering" revolution. Some stuff can just have a niche market and be better than what's out there. They're in it to make money first and foremost. And frankly, if people could carry an iPod-sized object, with wireless headphones, and that could play widescreen movies on a 4" or so screen (AND, oh by the way, carry their iTunes library to boot), it would be the death of the portable DVD player.

True, if at the bar in the country club among friends, or at a session of shooting skeet. I've taught a couple of doctors about guns, and freely admit to knowing them. Doctors can be okay people, although some are socially unacceptable IMO.
But otherwise it's exactly like asking someone how much money they have in the bank. You don't ask a farmer how many acres he owns--which is the same thing. Nor ask a rancher how many head of cattle he runs. Rude, discourteous and just plain ignorant.
Rude, discourteous and just plain ignorant is assaying pretty high-grade in today's society--but it's still stupidity at its finest.
A doctor has no way of knowing the circumstances of somebody's homelife--and since there are tens of millions of homes I submit that there is no "One size fits all" to allow some outsider's judgement. He is no expert on firearms use or safety, absent being a "gunny" himself.
It's nobody's business how much of what that I own or how much money I have. Ah, well, nothing's really new among idiots. Hank Williams sang about it over sixty years ago: "If you mind your own business, then you won't be minding mine; if you mind your own business you'll stay busy all the time."

I ordered the Hardened Edition for the 360 @ Best Buy for local store pickup.
I have quite a few reward zone points & a gift card or two, so it was a no brainer.
Turns out it was the only way to pre order special editions @ Best Buy, otherwise if you pre order in store you can only pre order the regular edition. Gamestop capped their pre orders for hardened editions, so it was the only way for me to 'guarantee' a copy of the hardened edition. Seems the hardened edition maybe the popular one.
Looking forward to playing CoD again, as I stopped shortly after the overly expensive map packs started getting released.

Well, in this case, many hospitals require you to have a car seat on hand before you drive your newborn home. So, there is some input from doctors based on a public health perspective. And, frankly, it's a good thing.

Didn't know things were so different down in Texas, but here in Iowa it's not rude to ask a farmer how many acres they have nor how many cattle they run. My family farm has both, and we get those questions all the time. Not a big deal. That being said, if my doctor asked me if I had guns, and how many, in the course of a checkup, my response would be... "Why? Why in the world do you want to know that?" If he said so that he could calculate risk and provide suggestions in that regard, I'd tell him to kindly mind his own business and I'd tend to the safety of my own family. If he was a jerk about it, I'd get a new doctor... plain and simple. The government shouldn't be involved at all in telling him what he can and can't ask... it's a free country. Likewise, if that same doctor asked me what my religion was, I answered Lutheran, to which he replied that he could no longer provide me services as he only did business with straight atheists, I would be totally ok with that as well. His choice. If it was life and death, and he let me die when no other alternatives were available, then it'd be a prosecutable offense having nothing to do with religion.

Although the data transferred may be the same or more with on-demand streams, when it's live there will be much higher simultaneous usage. With high-end hosting in general, simultaneous usage is the killer and not really total bandwidth usage. With the popularity of Apple these days the number of simultaneous streams could be extremely high (I mean, if MacRumors gets 100,000 visitors simultaneously think what Apple would get themselves).If they tried to offer a live audio stream, would that produce the same simultaneous usage problem, even though the bandwidth would be reduced?

There are completely different cultural factors that play into this as well. You cannot blame guns for this, you have to blame people. There are underlying issues that cause this type of violence that we are not dealing with. Guns are not the problem, our culture is. Treat the disease, not the symptom, or your results will continue to be the same.
We can do both at the same time. Refusing to have very strict gun control is a result of the culture problem you described. Guns are enablers for our worse instincts in our culture. Why enable them to have such destructive consequences?

IMO, until the ipad gets this, which is entirely possible, it will remain more of a toy than a tool, and all these commercials will be nothing but fodder for the haters.

The links from that iTunes Videos thing DO NOT point to any movies. They point to iPod versions of movie trailers. It's just a consolidation of the current content.

So why bother? If you don't like it, don't download it. There are thousands of apps in the store that I don't like or have no interest in. No need to comment everywhere how much I dislike them and how much every user of those is a brainless idiot. there is a very simple solution with basically two options:
(1) if you (think you) like it -> download and try
(2) if you don't like it, don't download it
It is not that this app is forced to be installed on your phone. It is your choice.
I always enjoyed the creative iAds, I downloaded the app and found to my surprise that it even shows me (in the US) some of the European ads which I otherwise wouldn't have seen.
The only thing I wonder about is: is Apple getting money if people click on the ads? (my guess would be no)

Actually, Aluminum is a good conductor and makes an excellent antenna material. Almost all television and amateur radio antennas are aluminum.
Why is it a poor idea on a phone? As soon as you touch the case, you ground the antenna and get no reception!

Weird, I don't know anyone who owns a truck. But that's irrelevant anyway. You can't really think that there are as many trucks as there are automobiles around. :)
Must just be a regional thing. I've never lived anywhere else, so.. Almost everyone here owns some sort of truck or trailer (how else do you bring your brush and stuff to the dump etc?). It's not something you utilize fully daily, but you don't want to have to have someone else do for you. PCs will probably end up for certain types of users who need to use more high-end applications or require large screen real estate.
