My infopass IO told me so. My wife's namecheck got cleared last October. However, it was waiting for mine and it cleared the hurdle July 08. So yes, it matters even if one year has passed since I applied for 485.

Hello,
My PERM case was filed on mid-May and got audited on May 28.
Will it be appropriate for me to join you all for the complaint or if my case is too recent?
Thanks.

Are you kidding me $400.00 I paid $115.00 Including tetanus shot and tb shot. $35.00 for the lab work and my husband's insurance covered the x-ray because I Knew it would com back positive. What a rip off

Good points.
Cann't travel outside usa, because of too many restrictions on h1/h4 visa holders.
yes this can be a newsworthy story from an emotional perspective and views from prominent behaviour scientist to reaffirm our sentiments.

Why do we need a transit visa if we are just passing by the airport( I know UK has this rule). Can someone please share if we really need the transit visa. I am travelling on next week to Chennai via Frankfurt.
If you have a valid (unexpired) US visa and traveling, to OR from US, to any country via Germany, then you DON'T need a transit Visa.
If you are traveling on AP, you need transit visa via Germany.
Quote from the German Mission web site:
Nationals of the following countries are required to be in possession of an airport transit visa when passing through the international transit area of airports in Germany:
AFGHANISTAN, BANGLADESH, DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF THE CONGO, ERITREA, ETHIOPIA, GHANA, INDIA, IRAN, IRAQ, JORDAN ** (please see below), LEBANON, MYANMAR, NIGERIA, PAKISTAN, SOMALIA, SRI LANKA, SUDAN, SYRIA, TURKEY
Exceptions: Nationals from the above list are entitled to transit through the international transit zones without an airport transit visa:
1. If they hold a valid visa for the United States of America
2. If they return from the USA after having used the visa
3. If they hold one of the following residence permits:
* Form I-551 permanent resident card (valid for 2 to 10 years),
* Form I-551 Alien registration receipt card (valid for 2 to 10 years),
* Form I-551 Alien registration receipt card (no expiry date),
* Form I-327 Re-entry document (valid for two years — issued to holders of a I-551),
* Resident alien card (valid for 2 or 10 years or no expiry date. This document guarantees the holder’s return only if his stay outside the USA has not exceeded one year),
* Permit to re-enter (valid for two years. This document guarantees the holder’s return only if his stay outside the USA has not exceeded two years),
* Valid temporary residence stamp in a valid passport (valid for one year from the date of issue).

I agree-If USCIS wanted to reject atleast we would have heard some cases by now.
Even if they have done so after July 2 we will hear soon within a week from now on atleast.
If it have happened we still will have time to refile till Aug 17.
So hopefull there shouldnt be any problem.cross the fingers so we can be safe.
we dont have the medical paper or the original I140 to refile. We will wait and see.

If you lived more than 6 months outside of India, you can choose any consulate.
Disclaimer: Not a legal advice
If you are a resident of Karnataka, TN, AP or Kerala, you need to schedule an appointment with Chennai consulate. With regards to PIMS, I guess consulates wll ask for this info. well in advance once you schedule the appointment. I got my VISA stamped from Chennai cosnulate during my visit in Feb and received my passport in 3 days. My wife who is in India now got her VISA stamped last month and the stamped passport was returned in 2 days. I don't think you need to worry too much about PIMS since the system is more streamlined now.

We guys were discussing proposal for 485 adjudication during retrogession and these guys(USCIS) are moving backwards. Man..when this will end?
USCIS never talked about "proposal for 485 adjudication during retrogression"
People were writing their fantasies on this newsgroup

Out of the labor backlog that covers me,
Black as the Pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For IV's unconquerable soul.
In the fell clutch of rules quagmire
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeoning of chance
My career is bloody, but unbowed.
Beyond this GC pace of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the delay,
And yet the menace of the rules
Finds, and shall finds me/us/IV unafraid.
Waiting in vain for Name check, Years wasted in pain
Though I know, I have never done nothing wrong
One day to be out of this nightmare is my hope
I know for sure without IV I cant cope
It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate
I am the captain of my soul.

This is based on Invictus, a work by William Ernest Hanley, Ref http://www.bartleby.com/103/7.html
I made changes in original work. See if you all like it, and lets see how we can reference it.
I like Invictus, very encouraging work, its good read for everyone. Ref http://www.bartleby.com/103/7.html

be aware. All these PDF editing tools leave a watermark - "Draft" or "Trial Version".
They are totally useless.
Earlier trial Adobe 7.0 Professional did give edit and save. Not 8.0
Bottonline: don't waste time or by 8.0 for USD 1800 or so. Or use one who has PDF editors (Admins etc)
Buy PDFill it will cost 20$ , It is cheapest software available for editing and saving PDF forms.

bluez25,
Dates moving back is a once in 10 year event (not a guess but actual stats).
The July fiasco type thing happening again is almost nil !
Give that interview and get the immigrant visa.. You are all set.
Tinku,
How can you be so sure that I should be ok even when the dates move back? any links for me to read on information...

Thanks for quick replies.
The reason for my concern is our Company lawyer has been getting calls from almost every person who went to India that they are either receiving 221G or getting denied.
Four of my co-workers are stuck due to administrative processing. But none of them attended Mumbai Consulate. My company has suggested that consulates are harassing people for no clear reason and hence should avoid India Travel for next few months.
Please continue to share your experiences.
