I would be interested. I know enough flash to make nice banners, and I am pretty good at photoshop. If you still need someone to team-up with you, here I am. I am also very laid-back.

- The A0XX XXX XXX is the A number or alien number
- Nothing good or bad. It is sometimes there on the 140 approval notice also. It is there on 485/765/131
- No one knows when you will get your GC. Your PD is old so you may get lucky soon...
Thanks for your prompt response.
- still I feel that only because I received just now after 8 years this A#, seems to me that only at this time I'm registered as an immigrant?
That is what alien number means in English ? Sorry.

I'm in CA and my I-140 was approved by TSC (E-filing) and I-485 is pending at TSC (was filed at NSC initially).
here are my questions, I need help on...
1. If I file EAD now, where should I file?? TSC or NSC?
2. If its NSC (since I'm live in CA), will this filing trigger transfer of case from TSC to NSC??
who wants to be mess with NSC :)
Thanks,
Where you filed I-485 is not a criteria to select where the EAD application should be submitted (renewal or first time). Just check the state and supporting service center and file it there. I filed my I-485 in Nebraska alongwith first time EAD and AP. But now (as written in I-765 instructions), I need to file it in the service center that processes my state (Georgia). Hope it helps.

PJ,
Sorry for the delay in the answer. I have never heard of an import staying with your FLA file after being erased. It sounds like there is an error in Flash. I would recommend contacting our support - support@erain.com.
Here are some tips from my friend Rushvision on keeping file size low:
There are a number of different things you can do to decrease the file size of your exported SWF. Here are the some things for you to try.
Scale your objects down in the Scene Editor
Go to the Layout Page on the Properties Toolbar and decrease the scene size. You are working with vectors, so your images will scale back up very nicely once imported into Flash.
Some objects have settings that allow you to change the number of segments used to create it, such as the torus and the sphere. Decreasing the number of segments will reduce the amount of data that needs to be rendered.
Get rid of any unnecessary bevels. These add considerably to the total number of polygons that make up the objects in your scene.
In the Preview and Export Editor under the General Options, you can set the Detail Level to low.
Setting the slider farther over to Curves will usually result in a slightly smaller file size, but don't expect this one to work miracles.
Experiment with the different Fill Settings. There is no one setting that works best for every situation. Try combining outlines with some of the simpler fill settings to get the greatest amount of detail and the smallest file size. It will often be a compromise on some level.

A federal judge has ordered USCIS to pay attorney Kip Evan Steinberg $25,000 in legal fees after the lawyer's client sued the agency to force it to complete processing in an adjustment of status green card case. USCIS tried to point the finger at the FBI for delays in the name check process, but the judge wasn't buying. The judge found the 151 hours the lawyer put in to the case to be reasonable. So 151 attorney hours were wasted, an individual waited years unnecessarily and America's taxpayers are out $25,000.

Why do we need a transit visa if we are just passing by the airport( I know UK has this rule). Can someone please share if we really need the transit visa. I am travelling on next week to Chennai via Frankfurt.
If you have a valid (unexpired) US visa and traveling, to OR from US, to any country via Germany, then you DON'T need a transit Visa.
If you are traveling on AP, you need transit visa via Germany.
Quote from the German Mission web site:
Nationals of the following countries are required to be in possession of an airport transit visa when passing through the international transit area of airports in Germany:
AFGHANISTAN, BANGLADESH, DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF THE CONGO, ERITREA, ETHIOPIA, GHANA, INDIA, IRAN, IRAQ, JORDAN ** (please see below), LEBANON, MYANMAR, NIGERIA, PAKISTAN, SOMALIA, SRI LANKA, SUDAN, SYRIA, TURKEY
Exceptions: Nationals from the above list are entitled to transit through the international transit zones without an airport transit visa:
1. If they hold a valid visa for the United States of America
2. If they return from the USA after having used the visa
3. If they hold one of the following residence permits:
* Form I-551 permanent resident card (valid for 2 to 10 years),
* Form I-551 Alien registration receipt card (valid for 2 to 10 years),
* Form I-551 Alien registration receipt card (no expiry date),
* Form I-327 Re-entry document (valid for two years — issued to holders of a I-551),
* Resident alien card (valid for 2 or 10 years or no expiry date. This document guarantees the holder’s return only if his stay outside the USA has not exceeded one year),
* Permit to re-enter (valid for two years. This document guarantees the holder’s return only if his stay outside the USA has not exceeded two years),
* Valid temporary residence stamp in a valid passport (valid for one year from the date of issue).

Hi All
I have a question regarding visitors visa, my parents got multiple Entry 10 years visa in 2007, but have not visited me so far, but this december my Mom is visitng me and in Feb my father( as to avoid harsh winter weather in East Coast), they will leave back in May 2009.
My Question is will there be any issue as their visa was issued in 2007 but they are visiting now
Do I need to send any new documents( I have moved onto EAD )
Looking forward to hear suggestions.
if they have multiple entry 10 year visa then there should be no problems. just for safe side, ask them to carry your cell number, give them you Passport photocopy, EAD photocopy. Make sure they do not show them unless asked for.

She will need to complete a 3 year waiver in medically underserved area or a 2 year home return before you can file for her adjustment of status(I-485).
We had faced a similar situation 3 years back and decided to go ahead with it since looking at the backlogs I am assuming with my PD of 2007 I am still way off from getting my GC.
So now my wife is completing her residency in June this year and has a waiver job lined up. Once/ If dates become current I will file for her I-485 after the waiver is complete.
If you need details then PM me.
Everyone has their own priorities and their own way of dealing with the situations.

As per immigration-law.com..Senate may work on CIR in March 07 and hand it over to House by APril 07....House may however sit on it for years on end...
02/18/2007: Need for Immigration Reform and Concerns with Growing Gridlock in Legislations in the Congress
The Democrats launched a new Congress with aggressive platforms and legislative agenda on January 4, 2007. Madame Pelosi of the House set the first 100-hour legislative agenda and the Senate Majority Leader, Harry Reid presented on the Senate floor ten legislative bills as top priority for the first few months of the Senate.
However, immersed in the party politics, the Congress left the Hill yesterday, Saturday, for a week long break without achieving a lot because of the gridlock it had faced in the Congress. Samo, Samo Washington politics involving the Republicans and Democrats. It practically means that the Congress wll not resume the active legislative activities until March 2007.
S. 9, the Comprehensive Immigration Reform bill, adopted by the Senate floor, is in the Judiciary Committee of the Senate. The newly elected Chairman of the Judiciary Committee, Sen. Leahy, reportedly set the CIR as one of the top agenda of the Judiciary Committee for March 2007 and the Democratic leaders reportedly determined to pass the CIR by April 2007 and quickly send it over to the House for its prompt action. How beautiful the agenda of the new Congress.
We want to watch carefully how closely the leaders of the House and Senate will follow through the agenda. In a way, from the perspectives of this immigration legislation agenda, we are relieved that the Congress was over with the most serious road block to the Congress, to wit, rebuke of Bush's resurge in Iraq.

Recently, I made my own PP photos using http://www.epassportphoto.com/
This is a great service - It creates a jpeg file from a picture that you upload, and you can choose the "free" option in which you can save the jpeg file with 4-6 pictures in one frame (A 4" x 6" photo can yield 6 pp photos of 2" x 2"), and take it to Walgreens/Costco/Kinkos for a printout for $0.25 each. Otherwise you pay about $8-$12 for 2 photos at the same stores!!
For a family of 4, this equates to savings of ~ $40!!!
The site has all the tools for meeting various types of visa/pp/etc photo requirements for various countries.

my honest opinion on transit visa issues- the best way is to do a quick check on Netherlands website.......rather than only rely on answers on a public forum
http://www.netherlands-embassy.org/visainquiry.asp
Visa Inquiry Result
March 11, 2003
Inquiry date: December 18, 2008
Citizen of: India
Status in US: unlisted status
Resident of: Texas
Travel document: US Re-entry Permit
Duration of stay: less than 12 hours
Purpose of stay: airport transit
First country: Netherlands
Second country: Other
Main destination: other
Based on the above mentioned information the following has been concluded:
an airport transit visa is not required.
Please note that each traveller needs to hold a valid passport with a validity thats exeeds the intended stay by at least 3 months and a return/onward airline ticket. In addition to that, visitors to the Netherlands need to present proof of sufficient funds and medical insurance upon arrival. Travellers should not present a danger to public order or national security.

Hello All,
I heard from my employer that many people who are visiting India for H1B Stamping are getting stuck with 221G query. My company lawyers have suggested us to cancel or postpone all the travel plans to India.
Did any of you have any recent stamping experience at Mumbai Consulate? I would appreciate if you can share it on this forum.
Thanks,

Asfar as I know the I94 date is always linked to a visa and not the Notice of Action. when i faced the same issue this what I was told.
invincibleasian is totally WRONG in saying this. Officer at POE does not always determine the expiry date of I-94 based on visa stamp expiry. In case of H1 or H4, the expiry date is determined by the expiry of the concerned H1B petition (Notice of Action) from the current employer. I don't know what kind of issue invincibleasian faced.
Lemme share my own experience to prove my point. I entered the US in Sep 2006 with my visa stamp from my previous employer expiring in 15 days. The Notice of Action from my current employer however had an expiry date of Apr 2007. Officer issued the I-94 with Apr 2007 as the expiry date. No questions were asked. I guess that answers all of your questions.
Shruti is right for the most part. However, I would re-phrase this sentence
>>If the Officer gives June 2007 date, your wife should show the latest I-797 and get the date corrected.
to say this
Present the latest I-797 along with your visa stamp first so officer puts he correct expiry date on I-94, leaving no room for any mistake. With my experience, I can vouch that POE officers seem to be quite aware of this procedure.

Hello everyone,
I went online to check the status of my I-485 and it displayed me the following message
Application Type: I485, APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS
Current Status: Document mailed to applicant.
On December 19, 2007 we mailed the document to the address we have on file. You should receive the new document within 30 days. If you do not, or if you move before you get it, call customer service.
What does it mean? Does it mean that I-485 is approved.
Pls guide.

Department of State Visa Office provided explanation of its monthly determination of employment preference cut-of dates and data used in determining employment based cut-off dates for December 2010.
Each month, the State Department subdivides the annual preference and foreign state limitations specified by the Immigration and Nationality Act into monthly allotments based on totals of documentarily qualified Immigrant Visa applicants reported at consular posts and Immigration Offices, grouped by foreign state chargeability, preference category, and priority date.
If there are sufficient numbers in a category to satisfy all reported documentarily qualified demand, the category is considered "Current." For example: If the monthly allocation target is 3,000 and there is only demand for 1,000, the category will be "Current. Whenever the total of documentarily qualified applicants in a category exceeds the supply of numbers available for the particular month, the category is "oversubscribed" and a visa availability cut-off date is established. The cut-off date is the priority date of the first documentarily qualified applicant who could not be accommodated for a visa number.
For example: If the monthly target is 3,000 and there is demand for 8,000 applicants, then it would be necessary to establish a cut-off date so that only 3,000 numbers would be allocated. In this case, the cut-off would be the priority date of the 3,001st applicant.

As per the last revised visa bulletin, the extension period for filling I-485 is Aug 17. But it talks about only I485 and not about I-140.
So can anyone confirm, if one can file I-140 and I-485 concurrently from Aug 1 to Aug 17.
why not. i dont see why they would not accept cuncurrent filing of I-140/I-485

Making a strong pitch for America to stay competitive in the face of emerging economies such as India and China, President George W Bush has urged the Congress to raise the number of H-1B visas that allow companies to hire foreign workers for scientific and high tech jobs.
"Congress needs to understand that nations like India, China, Japan, Korea and Canada all offer tax incentives that are permanent. In other words, we live in a competitive world. We want to be the leader in this world," Bush said in a speech in Minnesota on Thursday.
To fill vacant jobs in the US, Bush urged the Congress to lift current limit on H-1B visas that allow foreign workers to get jobs in the United States. The Congress in 2005 capped at 65,000 the number of H-1B visas, a third of the 195,000 allowed during the technology boom.
"I think it's a mistake not to encourage more really bright folks who can fill the jobs that are having trouble being filled here in America, to limit their number. So I call upon Congress to be realistic and reasonable and raise that cap," Bush said, but did not say by how much he wanted the limit lifted.
He said that one part of the agenda to stay competitive was to study math and science, a theme he touched on in his State of the Union Address on Tuesday.
"It's one thing to research, but if you don't have somebody in that lab, well And so I got some ideas for the Congress to consider. The first is to emphasize math and science early, and to make sure that the courses are rigorous enough that our children can compete globally," Bush said in a speech at the 3M Corporation.
He said there are more high-tech jobs in America today than people available to fill them. "So what do we do about that? And the reason it's important -- and the American citizen has got to understand it's important -- is if we don't do something about how to fill those high-tech jobs here, they'll go somewhere else where somebody can do the job."
"There are some who say, we can't worry about competition. It doesn't matter, it's here. It's a real aspect of the world in which we live," he said.
"And so one way to deal with this problem, and probably the most effective way, is to recognize that there's a lot of bright engineers and chemists and physicists from other lands that are either educated here, or received an education elsewhere but want to work here. And they come here under a programme called H1B visas," Bush said.
He said America should not fear competition. "It's important for us not to lose our confidence in changing times. It's important for us not to fear competition but welcome it."
Senior administration officials noted that the number of H-1B visas has fallen to 65,000 which in their estimation was 'too low' and that it was imperative 'to bump that up.'
". . . some of reports have called for increases of 10,000; others between 20,000 and 40,000. So there is a number of options on the table to be considered. But we'll work with Congress on that," said Claude Allen, assistant to the President for domestic policy.
