Does anyone know any other place to find the PD in case you have the Case Number?
The link mentioned below shows the PD for 2006 FY Data only :(
For 2007/2008 FY, I could not get the PDs from the below mentioned site.
If you have all the PERM case numbers with you then you should be able to find your PD in this link

I lost my job.My 140 is approved and I 485 is over 180 days.I have 2 yr EAD .I was laid off on 6 th April and I see LUD on I-485 on 9 april.I am so much worried that I may get RFE.
What are my option if I get RFE on Employment before getting new job.How can I get my RFE from company lawyer becase Lawyer address is on my 485 Receipt.

I am 99.99 % confident that the soft LUD has nothing to do with your job loss. Had USCIS been that efficient to update our cases with in a couple of days of change request, we wouldn't have this messy immigration system. Lately, USCIS has been working aggresively to reduce the backlog of pending 485 applications applied during the July.2007 fiasco, by processing those applications. The "processing" means validating the application and the documentary evidences. If everything is fine with the application and the applicant's PD is also current, USCIS approves the I-485. If the PD is not current, USCIS preadjudicates the application and the application is kept pending until the PD becomes current. This triggers a soft update in LUD in I-485; besides, there are also several other scenarios that might trigger soft LUD in I-485.

I have just thought of something (don't know that anyone discussed this in our forum), what if USCIS do not reject the cases filed for July and keep the packages back for few months or years, just saying...
a) Need to record each application that they have received
b) Need to make sure that there are no concurrent I-140 filings
c) Need to differentiate the packages received in June and July
d) Etc
e) Etc
What will happen to AILA' Plaintiffs? Can they sue just having FedEx/UPS tracking number and the updated visa bulletin?
What will happen to the folks applied on 1st July? They are not going to have AP and EAD in the future. Few of their visas may need renewal soon. How can the travel outside USA? I know there are lots more problems than this.....
What will happen, if Oct Visa Bulletin is moved to up to 2005 for all the EB categories and the people who have filed in July not received the packages back in the meantime?
Moreover, who knows, USCIS may not send the packages back for several weeks to avoid lawsuit. What will happen to the people who applied on 07/02?

I have NOT heard of anything that specifically prohibits H1Bs getting a mid year raise. Ask your HR where they are getting the information from?

As far as possible, I would strongly suggest to stay away from small consulting companies. These typically pay you only when you are on project and that too after taking a huge cut from your billing rate. For e.g. it is very common for such a company to bill $80-100/hr i.e. $160-200K annually for an employee but pay the employee between $50-70K only.
Also I have heard horror stories of delayed payrolls, h1 not being given to employee fearing that the employee might change jobs and so forth.
However if you are strong of heart, and can negotiate well, you might be able to make more money. For e.g. if you already have EAD, you are not bound to them. Thus you can always say that you want 80% of billing rate or else no deal. :)

Yeah, they do sell tractors and have second highest market share. However I was talking about their pickup and SUV going to be introduced in next few months.
The derogatory comments, everytime some one talks about vehicle made in india (or any third world country) by readers motivates me more to buy one.

Thanks again for all answers - Another Q that i had is - i am applying for a extension of my H1 Visa. My current validity is till June 2008. My 6 years will be completed in August 2009. I have a approved I-140!
My Q is - can i apply for a 3 year extension right now based on my 140 approval.? That is - can i extend H1 from July 2008 till June 2011..?? OR do i have to wait to complete all 6 years till i can use the benefit of the 140 approval for H1 extension?

No problem, you can apply for Canadian visitor visa: do reveal your current status (AOS) - Canadian immigration will see your ties to the US and they will issue the visa (as per your situation, you are less likely to overstay the visitor visa).

You can use the unexpired H-1 visa UNLESS your prior employer has withdrawn the underlying petition in which case the visa is void.

As previously stated you have to maintain H1 status for the the spouse to be on H4. If you change status to AP/EAD then your spouse will be out of status. I am in the same position as you are. My PD recently became current and my wife filed last month I-485, AP, EAD. You can change jobs but new company has to sponsor/transfer your H1.

My H1-B extension was filed on June 3 2010 requesting for additional 3 years (after the 1st 6 yrs). My labor and I-140 were also approved. The case has been pending since then. It has been more than 5 months now. I was wondering if anyone else is experiencing similar delays? My I-797 has expired in September and I'm still working on the basis of the pending application.

I checked my mail last Saturday, got Cards and welcome approval notices in mail. Status at USCIS website still shows all cases pending. I had called my Senators office for follow up week before as processing dates also had also passed.
I appreciate IV for providing this website for sharing our immigration issues and concerns in this long journey.
