Thanks for the heads up chrono about the collision detection, but that was not really where I was getting at.

The merging part is where I'm stuck.
I want the decay of the 'barrier' realtime, not a bunch of sprites displaying a decaying barrier.
Think of Worms where you blast away a piece of ground....how do they do that.

The most powerful PPC cards are the Nvidia 7800GT or ATI 1900XT. They are pretty much on par performance wise.

They require a PCIe slot, though, which I'm not sure your G5 has. Only the late 2005 models are equipped with this slot. All previous G5 models have a AGP slot, in which case you should settle with a Nvidia 6800 Ultra. However, if you can find one, a flashed PC 7800 for AGP (usually on ebay) will be your best bet.

Has anyone had a Mini with the 2.0 Ghz Core 2 Duo CPU with 4 GB ram and now has the newer 2.66 Mini?

I am trying to see since I am selling my uMB 2.4 if I should also sell my 2.0 Mini from 2009 and just get a new 2.66 loaded with 4GB, not concerned with the HDD as I will get a 128SSD and use an external HDD for Data.

Just trying to see if I will notice a big difference especially since it will be my sole Mac?

I apologize if this in the wrong place, but I'm planning on buying the Jquery reference book from O'reilly and I'm curious what you guys think on the ebook vs. paper issue for programming references.

Probably gonna get it from Google Books, so I can read it on my computers, my phone and eventually, an iPad. Price is no issue (whole dollar or so difference).

At least with the Xbox bundle (250 gig model with 2 games) is only 50 bucks more than the basic 4 gig model - that was the one I got. And that is a MS bundle that is all in one box.

As far as the rest is concerned, profit margins on individual systems is so razor thin, they just make more on the bundle models. That�s why the console prices are so fixed across stores.

Its now 9.50 and the queue is forming well infront of the Apple store,touchwood. I have heard rumours abound that white models are limited and iPad stock isn't as many here as the bigger london stores, so if your planning to be a late comer cancelled your meetings, leave work early or just cry off ill, because your going to be waiting in line a long time and your going to be very angry if stock has gone. people started turning up near 6.30am and the line is getting bigger.

I have Logic 8 Express, but am hoping to upgrade to 9 Studio whilst still at university (lovely discount :D ). On the interface front, I would not buy through the apple store as very expensive. Try somewhere like dolphin music (www.dolphinmusic.co.uk) or Guitar, Amp and Keyboard Centre (www.gak.co.uk). These are both reputable music stores.

I've not been into these conferences before now (I saw the keynote from Steve Jobs a) when the new iMacs were anounced, and b) when the new ipods/iphone were anounced) and since then, I've had a huge excitement...plus the fact, I'm in the market for a MBP and an iMac :D

So yeah, I'm more excited about MacWorld

PS2, not PSP... and wouldnt a mini PS2 have the same size cds so that all the games that have been released to date are compatible. Although, with my experience, burnt media will usually not play in playstations, burnt cds are simply a no go, and burnt dvds are a toss up.

If you want to listen to MP3s CD or DVDs, just get a cheap dvd player, you can even get DivX DVD players, my friend got a no namer for $100 CDN... and I got a Yahama DivX DVD player for $200 CDN...

What do you mean? Noone actually knows when new products will be released but we can often suspect certain things, about what system are you talking about? Also, the refurb store has some pretty good deals and it won't be a waste of money imo to buy something from the refurb store.



I have changed my mind sooo many times now about what to buy. But I see they are selling some good stuff on the Apple refurb store. If I don't buy right now, when will new products make it back on Apple's page? Thanks

yeah I upgraded to a Hitachi Travelstar 500gb 7200, works well. Personally I would go for WD black. For me there has been no difference in battery life between my the hitachi and my stock 60gb 5400, even though the speeds are better.

-40% of the time I go into a fresh install of windows,I cannot eject(To install mac drivers
-The option key USED to allow me to eject first before i went into windows
-I'll most probably be unable to go back to mac after installation of windows cuz of the option key being unable to work

Can't you right click on the ODD icon in Windows Explorer?

Are both Option keys not working? Have your tried another external USB keyboard? Even a Windows keyboard will work.
And to be absolutely sure, and so I understand correctly, as this is new to me, you were able to eject any optical media inside the ODD by just pressing the OPTION key during the boot process into Windows (after you restarted the Mac and chose to boot Windows)?

If you have successfully installed the Windows drivers from the Mac OS X DVD, then you can use the Boot Camp Utility in the Task Bar to restart into Mac OS X.

I had a 12 inch 867 before, and I could have cooked eggs on that baby! :eek:

I got a new 12" PB, and its stays very cool, unless your running some intense programs, like 3D games (i.e. Unreal Tournament 2004).
