My £5 Photobook

✼  ✼  ✼  ✼  ✼  ✼  ✼  ✼  ✼  ✼  ✼  ✼
Bought a 80% discount coupon for albelli photobook from groupon d(⌒o⌒)b
So instead of the original prices of £25, I only have to pay £5
Huge bargain no?  ( ´ ▽ ` )ノ

Here's the photo book product I received (21cm x 21cm).
The cover looks pretty plain and simple but it's made of high-quality linen, so its good :P
The quality of the photo printed is pretty good too.
I get to put as much photo as I want into a total of 24 pages :)

Except for the Japan photos, the others were all taken in 2010.

Pretty awesome yes? ( ´ ▽ ` )ノ

Super rare event - Chatted with Zai 2 times this week!
Unbelievable╭(⫪∀⫪;)╮She's usually too busy with her med studies, plus our time difference are, like, freakin' HUGE!
♥ Lots of love

The US No Longer Diagnoses Narcism

The decision by the American Psychological Association to strike narcissism out as a mental disease is a mistake. Physicians in others countries continue to see it has a disorder many people suffer from. Even the lay person can identify those in society with the malady. The most blatant characteristic is an exaggerated love of self, particularly the continual preening of one's body and dress.

Just why the association has made such a drastic decision is not clear. Perhaps those in authority in the psychological body have been offended because they have been identified with the complaint. This would be a logical conclusion.

Some see those who moved West to new lives with new ways as having been unfairly marked as being narcissistic. This interpretation is quite without foundation. Rockefeller, Jefferson, Edison and even Bill Clinton have had narcissistic claims made against them. A little thought will give the reason why, but it is drawing a very long bow to say all migrants are and were narcissistic.

Underneath the self love the narcissist believes he/she is in some way unacceptable to others and must fight back. This can result in intolerance toward others to outright verbal attack.

The most common trait is a lack of empathy with others. There is a connection with autism here. Many dictators are seen as narcissistic. They rule with an iron glove and live off the fat of the land while those they rule are treated badly and starve.

The entertainment industry is rife with people who really love themselves. Pop stars have to be pulled from the stage as they return to be applauded again and again. Furthermore, there is not much doubt many movie stars are narcissistic as they bathe in public admiration.

Let me tell you a story..

When my family were away to study in uk at my very young age,
my grandparents took care of me in Brunei.
As a result, I got really attached to my mum's side of the family and kept on staying over at their place in Jerudong.

I used to follow my grandparents everywhere and listened to their stories.
My grandfather had a lot of things to tell about his life. They were always so interesting.  I especially love listening to his childhood stories, life was really hard during his time.

Back then, my world seemed to be timeless.
At times I would spent all day sitting on my grandparent's verandah..
and stare into the distant field.

And then I started to daydream....
that I would be there, walking through that long grass field.

Then I saw a boy.
It was my grandfather, as a child

  I went back in time...

And so I approached him.

We became best of friends.
I showed him the latest gadgets I had, and he was so amazed.
That time there were no such things.
At the end of the day, I told him that,
"Im actually your granddaughter who came from the future!
One day you will become an amazing grandfather!"

I don't remember what was his reaction.

But one thing for sure, I knew it was something I longed for.
I loved my grandfather so much to the point I wished we were the same age.
I would imagine about our meeting over and over again.

Til now...
Everytime I look at the distant field, I would still remember.
..as if it really happened in the past.
My grandfather, Haji Noorkhan...
passed away yesterday morning.
I am devastated cause I am here in Aberdeen :'( But it is his time to go.
Semoga Allah mencucuri rahmat keatas roh Nini. Amin.
I looked into the sky and remember all the great memories..
Funny enough, the grass field was the first thing that popped up in my mind.

I love you always Nini Jerudong.

Zaimah

To my very best friend, I wish I am there in New Zealand to celebrate your birthday!

Zaimah and I were friends since year1 high school (age 10,11?), I can still remember the birthdays we celebrated some of the years together. The big/small parties, the surprises, the friends, the gifts.. no matter what we were always stuck together.
Im glad the sweetest person alive is mine.
We loved to talk our dreams and ambition eversince we were kids. While my ambition changed every year as we grew up, Zaimah's dream remained the same.
Ambition: Doctor
We had totally different personalities - Zaimah always worked hard with her studies, and as for me, I was a lazy bum. I know I wouldn't reach this stage if it is not because of her. I tried to keep up just so that we could always be together.

Now she is in her 4th year as the Medicinal student in NZ. Zai never gives up, she always tried her best to achieve her dreams. Its hard being far apart from each other, it really is. I still daydream how nice it'd be if we study in the same university.

Ahhh~  missing those days.

I love you Zai! :)

Goodbye Totoro.. T_T

Everything was decided in one day all of the sudden .
My flatmate Sa, has always been allergic to animals, yet she let Totoro stayed in our place for a while before summer holiday. Her allergy was getting worst day by day to the point her nose started to bleed.
I had to take Totoro away as soon as possible. Unfortunately no one is free at this time, there's only 1 choice left.

Animal adoption.
Then again, I was planning to give him away this summer anyway~ (Because last summer cost me 400pounds already. Im just a student!).
Plus my parents never like the idea of me keeping an animal in my room, its not healthy. They're right.

Its just a lil bit too early, Im just not ready to let him go.
But I have to, letting go is a part of life I need to face.

About my guinea pig,
I bought him at Aberdeen's 'Pets at Home' February last year. (Link1) (Link2)
He was so tiny and he had this cute mohawk hair :)
He grew a lot eversince.

And look at him now.
A giant black bushy creature.

Its time to lets him go....

I gave him back to the place where I found him.
Good thing they have an adoption centre in Aberdeen.
Filling a form with detailed information about Totoro.
'Reason: Owner's allergy (?)'
'About me: No hugs, just talk'
'Loves: Parsley and Yogurt drops'
'Hates: Being hold on to'

Totoro loves to play around my room whenever he wanted.
He's usually very noisy - asking for food, sings along everytime i sang~ and he talks back everytime I talked to him.
But i am not allowed to pick him up! (only by force)
But he loves face massages lol. :P

Peter, thank you for helping me out sending Totoro at the very last minute ;)

Be a good boy Totoro...

Hopefully you'll get a new lovable owner who loves to talk a lot like you do.

Im missing you

Shoo! Shoo! Go Away!

Im still not used to my 3rd year university life *_* My courses are getting complicated, and the amount of assignments keep on coming in to the point I just feel like i wanted to explode.

Guess my life have been too relaxing these past 2 years~ i am not coping well with the tight schedule nowadays. All these stress and sleepless nights working on my assignments have shown a terrible effect on my face! Please let it be summer again quick!

In this post, i am going to show the lab and field work I have done recently. ^_^ All the photos here are taken with 'CameraBag' in my iphone. Thank you Nano for introducing this wonderful application to me. Im loving it so much ;)

I just had 5 hours of practical today T_T so tiring~..... Going to have another long day tomorrow.. *sob*sob* And I have 3 more reports to hand in next week..... *sob*sob*

This is what I did today.

This is what i did few days ago.
We were recording the number of people born between 1860 to 1869 in the graveyard. It would have been very easy if it wasn't raining that day. T_TMy sweet-sweet friend, Ilona. ^_^

Rabbit Practical last week.
25minutes bus ride from Uni. It was a place with an amount of sand dunes next to the beach. The wind was so damn cold and crazy... How I miss Brunei...

At 1st I thought that the practical was about spotting rabbits~.. but it was just something to do with indirect counting with their proof of existance :/ (pellets, burrows and scraps). Sigh.

My friends were talking about how impossible it is to catch wild rabbits. BUT I DID! Not that I caught it tho. Anyone remember the cute baby rabbit me and Sa rescued during the 1st year? \(^_^)/ Go to this post if you wanna know more about it. I wonder what happen to that bunny now?
.
