Miley Cyrus Tweets Rant Against Urban Outfitters

There's no doubt that Miley Cyrus is a slave to fashion but who's one retailer that she has no tolerance for? Hipster Mecca, Urban Outfitters. After word that the chain stole a jewelry design

from a lesser-known artist, Cyrus took to Twitter to let the skinny jean paradise hear her roar (via Celebuzz).

"Love that everybody is hating on Urban Outfitters," Cyrus tweeted. "Not only do they steal from artists but every time you give them money, you help finance a campaign against gay equality," she continued to tweet with the hashtag 'SHADYASHELL.'

In her Twitter rant, Cyrus sites the recent claim that Urban Outfitters jacked the design behind necklaces shaped like varying states from independent artist, Stevie Koerner, who sells her designs on Etsy.com.

"I'm very disappointed in Urban Outfitters," Koerner wrote on her blog. "I know they have stolen designs from plenty of other artists. I understand that they are a business, but it's not cool to completely rip off an independent designer's work."

But Urban Outfitters' not so flattering penchant for copying isn't the only reason they've got Cyrus up in arms. The company's CEO, Richard Hayne, has donated thousands of dollars to Pennsylvania Senator, Rick Santorum's campaign funds -- the same politician who has openly spoken against gay equality.

"'IF WE ALLOW GAY MARRIAGE NEXT THING U KNOW PEOPLE WILL BE MARRYING GOLD FISH' - Rick Santorum UO contributed $13,000 to this mans campaign," Cyrus continued to tweet.

Could Cyrus actually have an impact on the brand's revenue? Urban Outfitters' PR team better get a move on it before they find out.

What would Kurt Cobain think? Miley Cyrus kicked off her 'Gypsy Heart' tour April 29 in Ecuador and gave fans a bit of a surprise with a cover of Nirvana's 'Smells Like Teen Spirit.'

The former Disney darling introduced the song to the crowd, saying, "For this tour, I want to be able to do the music that inspired me and made me want to be on this stage tonight."

She continued, "It's hard being on the road because you miss your family back home, and this song is something I always sing with my little brother who can't be with me on tour, so this song is also for him."

Miley Cyrus has drawn criticism in the past for getting camera happy at inopportune times, but her recent Twitter photo shows that the 18-year-old star has mastered the line between sexy and scandalous.

The photo, purportedly snapped to show off Cyrus' "piggy tails," shows off a whole lot more -- namely a close-up shot of the dream catcher tattoo the singer had inked on her ribs earlier this year.

The dream catcher, which is the fifth tattoo for Cyrus, has four feathers hanging from it, each of which reportedly represents one of her siblings.

"The dream catcher is to protect them," says a friend of the star.

Miley Cyrus Doesn't Feel the Love from America, Foregoing US Tour

Apparently it's not a 'Party in the U.S.A' for Miley Cyrus anymore. Instead of keeping things local, Miley is headed to South America and Australia for her forthcoming Gypsy Heart Tour which is set to kick off on April 27.

But why is Cyrus fleeing the country? Turns out she isn't feeling the love from America.

"I just think right now America has gotten to a place where I don't know if they want me to tour or not," she told Fox News. "Right now I just want to go to the places where I am getting the most love and Australia and South America have done that for me."

But Miley is doing more than just touring abroad, she's also withholding her music from her American fans -- she released her cover, 'Every Rose Has Its Thorn' in Australia and currently has no plans to bring it home.

As of yet, Cyrus will not be touring her new album, 'Can't be Tamed,' at all in the U.S. Her American fans will have to splurge on a plane and concert ticket to see Cyrus live this summer.

Miley only wants to go "to the places where I get the most love. Don't want to go anywhere where I don't feel completely comfortable with it," she said.

So what's got the pop star so jilted on her mother country? We've got no clue. Her family drama seems to be mending itself -- dad, Billy Ray Cyrus, just called of his divorce from wife, Trish -- and her U.S. records sales have been through the roof. How's that for showing some American love?

As for her family: "My family is good. They are stoked for tour. As long as I'm happy they are happy."

It sounds like everything is swell in the Cyrus household but what's one family who won't be sharing in the happiness? Cyrus' American fans. Cyrus would rather struggle through her subpar Spanish in South America.

"I Speak zero Spanish," she said. "I actually failed Spanish so I will have someone with me making sure I can get through my way."
